Alerts, leaderboard and notification settings

Your notification inbox, the monthly reading leaderboard and prizes, and how to choose which emails and notifications you get.

Step by step

1. Tap the bell for your notifications.
2. Papers has the Article of the Day, and alerts for what you follow.
3. Shorts has new video abstracts.
4. MCQ has your daily question.
5. Weekly has your top 10 and journal roundups.
6. Mark all read clears the badge.
7. The trophy shows your reading rank.
8. Your rank in your specialty this month, by the time you spend reading.
9. Compare yourself with your country, state or city.
10. World is the one that counts for prizes.
11. Tap the gift. Each month, the top three in your specialty win a free plan.
12. Show me on leaderboard. Turn it off to hide your name.
13. Now you're hidden. You still see your own stats.
14. To choose what reaches you, open Profile, then Notifications and email.
15. Turn push notifications or emails on or off.
16. Or each one: article of the day, daily question, Shorts, weekly top 10, and your followed searches.
