For healthcare professionals
Web of Medicine is free for verified healthcare professionals
Doctors and other registered healthcare professionals get Web of Medicine's AI tools free. Add your medical registration number when you sign up, confirm it is yours, and AI summaries, podcasts, video abstracts and Ask AI literature search are unlocked at once, on iPhone, Android and the web.
What is free once you are verified
- Detailed AI summariesA structured summary of any paper: design, population, results, effect sizes and limitations, from the full text when it is openly available.
- AI podcastsAny study turned into a short two-voice audio discussion, to listen to between cases or on the way to work.
- Video abstractsShort narrated explainers of randomised trials, every number checked against the published abstract and the trial registry.
- Ask AI literature searchAsk a clinical question in plain words; it builds the PubMed search, reads the abstracts and ranks what comes back by evidence level.
The free plan shows ads. Removing them costs $4.99 a month. Creating brand-new WikiMed topics is the only feature that stays paid. Fair use: up to 300 new AI generations a month, and opening one that already exists never counts.
Free for everyone, verified or not
- Your specialty feed of new papers, filtered by evidence level and journal quartile

Questions
- Is Web of Medicine really free for healthcare professionals?
- Yes. Once your medical registration number is verified, the AI tools are free: detailed ai summaries, ai podcasts, video abstracts, ask ai literature search. The free plan shows ads. Removing ads costs $4.99 a month, and creating new WikiMed topics is the only feature that stays paid.
- What do I need to get it free?
- A free Web of Medicine account and your medical registration number, for example a US NPI, a UK GMC number, an Indian NMC or State Medical Council registration, or your national medical council number. You confirm that the registration is yours and true.
- How long does verification take?
- It is instant. A correctly formatted number that you confirm as yours is verified straight away. Where a register offers an automatic check (the US NPI and the Indian Medical Register) we check it at once; for other registers our team spot-checks the record.
- Which countries are supported?
- Registration numbers from 198 countries, with dedicated fields for the United States, United Kingdom, India, France, Brazil, Mexico, Australia, Switzerland, New Zealand, Spain and Canada, and a general field for every other medical council.
- Is my registration number shared with anyone?
- No. It is used only to verify you, kept private and never shown to other users.
- Is there a limit on the free AI tools?
- A fair-use ceiling of 300 new AI generations a month. Opening a summary, podcast or video that already exists never counts, because those are shared.
- I am a student or have no registration number yet. What can I use?
- Everything that is free for everyone: your specialty feed of new papers, filtered by evidence level and journal quartile; short 60-word summaries on every paper card; reading and searching every WikiMed evidence summary. The AI tools become free when you add a registration number.
- Does it work on iPhone, Android and the web?
- Yes. One account works across the Web of Medicine iOS and Android apps and webofmedicine.ai, and a verified registration counts everywhere.
